Finding the Optimal Traffic
Tuesday

I guess you are in the mood to debate over minor factors of the methods of celebrated – or just silently rich – webmasters, what they do, what they use, how they network, which expos they attend and whatnot. The major part of being successful – however – still seems to be discussed fairly less time than millions of shallow and sometimes false methods: ‘What type of traffic do I need?’
Since you are an affiliate of AWEmpire (or plan to be), being aware of the composition of your traffic and its possible effects on your sales are vital. Most of the adult sites are gaining immensely huge traffic just for the sake of getting better Alexa ranks without further revision or filtering. This may look good, but what is valuable traffic, you might ask?
Always keep one principle in mind: you are affiliated with a webcam site. Conversion comes ahead of blindly gained traffic. Accordingly to this, you need to get visitors from countries with valuable purchasing power, or what economists call “disposable income”. Many people regard only US and Western European traffic as valuable, but thanks to the variety of alternative payment options offered on AWE sites, visitors from almost any country can be converted. And let’s not forget about the rapidly growing far eastern countries as well.
Search Engine traffic is very important. With good search engine optimization (SEO) you will get visitors who are most likely interested in your content. These are the visitors who usually bookmark sites or remember their URL and visit directly, so they are the most valuable part of your traffic. If you get visitors from another site with relevant content, it can be good as well but still not as good as SE traffic.
You can think of hiking the steeper hill and get traffic insanely quickly by trades, saying “Why can’t I boost my traffic immediately? I can be selective later when I get the bulk”. But remember: the visitors are just unwillingly led to your page, while it is not sure it was their intent I dare to say, a general surfer is getting bored even with the most stunning erotic imagery when he or she feels like a pinball thrown from site to site after doing only 3 or 4 clicks by skimmed thumbnails and links. Moreover, it takes plus one to be led to our site from your site. The more times clicks need to be taken, the less enthusiasm the surfer will have left by the end of the process.
Right. Boosted up traffic may look good for your trades, but what you need is a group of visitors to find your site interesting and if your site is a keeper, the visitor will feel comfortable to wander around and perhaps click on our advertisement – an other smooth way of gaining sales. As our practices show, sudden traffic growth never pays off. It costs more for You – the webmaster – and it is not reflecting the cautiously but reliably growing interest in your site.
One more thing: Alexa is not always right. While planning your course of gaining traffic for your affiliation benefits, don’t let it be your only weapon. The numbers are measured and determined by statistics sent by users who have the Alexa toolbar installed. There are other alternatives for getting public statistics, like Quantcast, Compete, Statbrain, Histats, etc… And if you see Extremetracking’s icon on a website, it can come in handy as well. However, you are advised to ask for server-side statistics or Google Analytics for the most accurate numbers.
The above mentioned rules and guides can be applied to marketing of most adult sites, but the basis for the article has been live cam sites. If you have a paysite or a network of paysites, your case is much easier; you are already targeting audiences who are willing, interested and eager to pay. It is just a small leap towards being a successful affiliate of AWE.
Stay smart and thanks for reading!
